Allied auto transport; buying trailers!
Word is, Allied bought up just about every trailer available at the auction of Blue Thunder trucks the other day in Maryland. From what I hear, they definitely needed some newer equipment. Still, it's amazing how much money a company in reorganization can come up with to make a purchase of this size.

Separately, the bankruptcy court on Thursday gave Allied interim approval to enter into a $15 million financing arrangement with a Yucaipa affiliate in order to revamp its aging fleet of tractor-trailers.
The company, which has been hit with higher-than-anticipated costs of repairing and maintaining its existing fleet, wants to buy a total of 150 tractor-trailers that another vehicle transporter is auctioning off.
